What book in this field has inspired you the most?

Joseph Davies Accounts of Innocence.

Did your research take you to any unexpected places?

It certainly gave me a much broader appreciation of the texts our authors were working with, and interdisciplinary work.

What did you enjoy the most about writing your book?

The variety of approaches of our authors to their individual chapters.

What did you find hardest about writing your book?

The editing process and collating material.

Is this your first published book, or have you had others published?

My first monograph was Iris Murdoch: Philosophical Novelist (Continuum, 2010).

How did you feel when you saw your first published book?

Relief!

Why did you choose to publish with MUP?

The great list they have, and the attention they give to the editorial process.

Did you approach writing this book differently to any of your previous work?

Yes, as my first edited collection this was rather a new venture for me.

Have you had time to think about your next research project yet? What are you working on now?

I’m now focused on working on Iris Murdoch and her milieu. Working on Iris Murdoch, Feminist (a monograph).
