  1. How would you like someone who has read your book to sum it up in one sentence?

A lot (if it’s a really sumptuous sentence).

  1. What book in your field has inspired you the most?

Kafka’s Complete Short Stories.

  1. Did your research take you to any unexpected places?

The garden.

  1. Which writing process do you use (computer, longhand, dictate, other)?

Phantasmoneiric flux.

  1. Why did you choose to publish with MUP?

I love Matthew Frost. I really love him. I do. I just can’t help myself.

  1. What are you working on now?

I’m writing a book about Covid-19.

  1. If you could go back and give yourself once piece of advice when starting out on this project, what would it be?

Be prepared to die finishing it.

8. If you could have been the author of any book, what would it be and why?

The Bible. Tidy revenue over a very long period.

  1. What other genres do you enjoy reading?

I confine myself quite strictly to unidentifiable literary objects.

  1. Which authors (academic and not) would you invite to a dinner party?

No dinner parties, never again.
