I have been part of the MUP editorial team since 2012 and am responsible for commissioning in Archaeology, Medieval Studies and History, from the medieval to modern period. I’m looking for monographs and edited volumes that are theoretically informed and innovative, and based on strong empirical research. Core areas for the list include social and cultural history, global history, gender, medicine, material culture, race and colonialism. I’m proud to look after several series, many of which have led the way in their field for decades. Some are focused on specific periods: Manchester Medieval Sources, Manchester Medieval Literature and Culture and Cultural History of Early Modern War. Others are thematic and cut across periods and regions: Studies in Imperialism, Gender in History, Social Histories of Medicine (see our series page for a full list). I also publish stand-alone titles, and ideas non-series books are equally welcome.
